ALFRED PISANI is a founder and shareholder of the Corinthia Group of Companies and has been the Chairman and Chief Executive since the company’s inception in 1966. He was responsible for the construction of the Group’s first hotel, the Corinthia Palace in Attard, Malta. Pisani has led the Corinthia Group from a one-hotel company to a diversified group. His business interests vary from equity participation, management, development and ownership of property and industrial catering, all on an international scale.


CAPT. RAY ZARB studied in Surrey UK and graduated in Hamamatsu Japan as a marine engine specialist between 1980 and 1990. In 1991, began his new career in aviation in Australia where he studied Passenger Aviation Medicine with the Royal Australian Air force, Dangerous Goods with the Civil Aviation Safety Authority – Australia and pilot training. Ray continued his studies towards professional pilot training in the UK and USA and served in the Armed Forces of Malta as a Search and Rescue Military Pilot. With over twenty three years of aviation experience in the professional pilot training industry, aviation management, general aviation engineering both local and overseas, Ray is a seasoned aviation operational and academic consultant providing the highest standards of commercial services to both local and international customers whilst ensuring the continual growth and diversification. He is also appointed as an Aircraft Accident Investigator with the Law Courts of Malta.

PROFESSOR JOSEPH FALZON received a Ph.D. degree in economics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, U.S.A. in 1984. He taught at several American Universities including Roosevelt University in Chicago, Northwestern University and University of Cincinnati. He returned to Malta in 1988 and was appointed as the first Head of the Department of Banking and Finance, set up in 1994. He is the author of several local and foreign publications and of numerous papers on the Maltese economy. He has served as a consultant to several organizations including the Malta Tourism Authority, the Bank of Valletta, the Central Bank of Malta, the Office of Fair Competition, Enemalta, the Housing Authority and the Chamber of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (GRTU). His research interests include hedge fund strategies, portfolio management, trading futures strategies, micro finance, and economic development.
